Jewellery Care
How to care for the pieces you love.
Every Trollbeads piece is designed to be worn, loved and collected over time. A little care helps preserve its beauty, lustre and character for years to come.
With the right care, silver retains its soft lustre and timeless finish.
Silver naturally oxidises over time, which may result in a darker tone that enhances its character.
Clean regularly by gently buffing with a silver-polishing cloth to maintain its shine.
Avoid prolonged exposure to air and moisture when not being worn, as this can accelerate oxidisation. When worn alongside gold, slight tarnish transfer may occur.
Store silver jewellery in an airtight bag when not in use. Ensure bracelets have enough space for beads to move freely, avoiding pressure on the lock.
Care guidance should be followed to preserve the condition of your jewellery. Wear and damage resulting from improper care may not be considered a manufacturing fault.
Each glass bead is individually crafted — a small work of art to be worn and collected.
Glass beads are handcrafted and may vary slightly in shape, colour and detail, making each piece unique.
Clean gently using a soft, lint-free cloth. Do not use commercial cleaning products, as these may contain chemicals that can damage the bead.
Avoid exposure to chlorinated water, seawater, hot water and household detergents, as well as perfumes and cosmetics.
Store and handle with care to protect the glass and internal structure. Apply jewellery as a final touch once ready.

Elegant and enduring, with care that keeps its finish at its best.
Gold and gold-plated jewellery offer a refined finish that will naturally evolve over time with wear.
Clean gently using mild soap and water, then dry thoroughly and polish with a soft cloth.
Avoid harsh jewellery cleaners and antibacterial soaps, as these may accelerate wear on plated surfaces.
Store pieces separately in soft cloth pouches or airtight boxes to minimise scratches and oxidation.
Over time, normal wear may cause the gold plating to fade; re-plating services are not available.

Precious and semi-precious stones are naturally unique, each with their own colour, structure and character.
Gemstones are natural materials and may vary in colour, structure and finish. Softer stones may develop a more subtle, worn faceting over time.
Clean gently using a soft cloth. Avoid harsh cleaning methods or chemicals, as some stones have a porous surface and may absorb substances.
Avoid knocks, impact, and exposure to perfume, hairspray and other chemicals. Dyed stones — including pink and turquoise agate — may fade if exposed to prolonged direct sunlight.
Store jewellery carefully to minimise contact with harder surfaces and reduce the risk of scratching or damage.

Organic and delicate, pearls benefit from regular wear and gentle care.
Freshwater pearls are organic materials that benefit from regular wear, helping to maintain their natural lustre.
Clean using a soft cloth, lightly dampened if needed. For deeper cleaning, use a mild, unscented detergent solution.
Avoid contact with perfumes, cosmetics, hairspray and acidic substances such as vinegar, lemon or chlorine.
Store pearls separately in a soft pouch to prevent scratching, ensuring they are completely dry before storing.

A naturally formed material that becomes more beautiful with wear.
Amber is an organic material that may vary in colour, shape and internal structure.
Clean simply by polishing with a soft, dry cloth to restore its natural glow.
Avoid oils, chemicals and cleaning products, as these may damage the surface.

A warm, responsive metal that evolves with you over time.
Copper is a living material that reacts with your skin and environment, developing a unique patina over time.
Clean occasionally using lukewarm soapy water and dry thoroughly with a soft cloth. A copper polish can also be used when needed.
Avoid prolonged exposure to moisture without drying, as this may accelerate tarnishing.
When not being worn, store copper jewellery in an airtight bag to help slow oxidisation. Tarnish can be removed using natural methods such as salt and vinegar or lemon and salt.

A soft, natural material that develops character with time.
Leather is a natural material that will soften and evolve with wear.
Clean using a soft, dry cloth for daily care. For deeper cleaning, use a mild, non-chemical leather cleaner or gentle soap applied with a soft cloth.
Avoid exposure to water, as this can significantly shorten the lifespan of the leather. Keep away from prolonged sunlight, which may cause drying or fading.
Store in a dry environment and consider occasional conditioning to maintain suppleness and durability.
Please note: Our leather items aren’t intended to be worn constantly, and we strongly recommend removing them before sleeping, showering, or any activity where they may come into contact with moisture or oils. Leather items are exempt from the 2-year warranty.
