Celebrate the Chinese New Year with Trollbeads!

Trollbeads welcomes in 2012 with the launch of twelve stunning new intricate silver beads depicting the Chinese Zodiac, designed by He Yang Hong to celebrate the Chinese New Year.

Known as Sheng Xiao, the Chinese Zodiac is based on a twelve year cycle.  Each year relates to an animal sign and each sign is compatible with two others, creating four groups called ‘trines’.  Read on to find out which animal sign you are and which signs you are compatible with!

Rat

Flexible, resourceful, inventive and creative. (1924,1936,1948,1960,1972,1984,1996,2008)

Ox

Gentle, patient, conscientious and loyal. (1925,1937,1949,1961,1973,1985,1997,2009)

Tiger

Adventurous, strong, courageous and honest.  This is supposed to be lucky year to be born in. (1926,1938,1950,1962,1974,1986,1998,2010)

Rabbit

Intelligent, cultured, peaceful, caring and romantic.  A keen eye and exquisite taste! (1927,1939,1951,1963,1975,1987,1999,2011)

Dragon

Honest, courageous and imaginative. Very energetic and healthy. (1928,1940,1952,1964,1976,1988,2000,2012)

Snake

Thoughtful, wise, detailed, patient and trustworthy. They are quick thinking and rather good looking. (1929,1941,1953,1965,1977,1989,2001)

Horse

Energetic, ambitious, friendly, humorous and articulate.  (1930,1942,1954,1966,1978,1990,2002)

Goat

Gentle, artistic, friendly and diplomatic, often with a heart of gold. (1931,1943,1955,1967,1979,1991,2003)

Monkey

Intelligent, quick thinking, helpful and full of energy. (1932,1944,1956,1968,1980,1992,2004)

Rooster

Ambitious, confident, honest, accurate and reliable. Real party people! (1933,1945,1957,1969,1981,1993,2005)

Dog

Generous, unselfish, calm and very loyal. Always available to lend a hand. (1934,1946,1958,1970,1982,1994,2006)

Pig

Polite, generous, courteous with an inner strength.  (1935,1947,1959,1971,1983,1995,2007)

Lovely, shall get my sign bead the pig. One of the traits of being a pig is attention to detail so I am afraid I must point out that the Chinese Year does not run from January 1st so your customers with January or early February birthdays might want to check that they do not fall into the previous year like I do. I am January 15th 1960 which makes me a Pig, my February husband of the same year is a Rat. We are not supposed to be compatible but we have managed 31 years!
