Fitting a Trollbeads leather bracelet

Here are some guidelines when fitting a Trollbeads leather bracelet:

• Measure your wrist then double that measurement – the bracelet wraps twice around the wrist!  Select a leather bracelet that corresponds to this measurement for a very snug fit when using the last punched hole on the bracelet.  Please bear in mind that leather is a naturally organic product which will give depending on the stress it is under.
• Select a Trollbeads lock.  Trollbeads have created a amazing selection of over 20 different styles of locks for you to choose from – 12 silver, 6 gold and 2 silver/gold.  The lock will add 2cm to the leather bracelet or 3cm if you choose one of the larger locks e.g. Big Flower or Big Fish.
• The leather bracelet is split at one end with two silver loops over which you can thread your charm beads.  The other end has a selection of five punched holes which will help you adjust your bracelet according to the number of beads you are wearing.  As the leather settles with wear these holes will enable you to adjust the length of your bracelet accordingly.
• To fit the bracelet – attach the larger clasp of the Trollbeads lock through the punched hole of the single leather end of the bracelet.  You can then attach the two silver loop ends of the leather bracelet into the small clasp of the lock.

Please note that leather is a natural product that will stretch over time and will mark. Trollbeads leather bracelets are made from the finest German leather.

Take care when using hand creams and perfumes as they often contain alcohol which can adversely affect the leather and the beads too.  Avoid immersing your Trollbeads leather in very hot water or sea water as this may cause the leather to change in appearance and to stretch.  Finally, please do not wear your Trollbeads leather in chlorinated swimming pools or in spa pools.  Please be aware that these instructions apply to all Trollbeads products.

You may already have read the blog on caring for glass Trollbeads in our ‘How to care for your glass Trollbeads’ blog, but here are some more fabulous hints on making sure your new silver charm beads and charm bracelets stay in beautiful condition; so remember the following care tips:

1. When not wearing your silver bracelets, beads, earrings or rings, we recommend that you store them in an airtight bag to prevent oxidization. You can also store them in our Trollbeads stacking jewellery case.
2. If you wear silver beads on your gold chain, please be aware that the silver can deposit a slight tarnish. This can easily be removed by gently buffing the chain regularly and carefully with a silver-polishing cloth.
3. Gentle, regular buffing with a silver-polishing cloth will help to retain the luster in your Trollbeads – a simple way to keep them clean and sparkling.
4. Ensure that your charm bracelet is fitted by an approved Trollbeads stockist, to make sure that there is enough slack for new beads to be added without putting pressure on the lock – if the bracelet is too tight it may force the lock open. You can use our retailer locator to find our recommended and approved list of UK Trollbeads stockists.  As an added precaution, we recommend that you have a stopper or safety chain fitted to your bracelet or necklace.

1. Cleaning your glass Trollbeads

To clean glass Trollbeads we advise you gently buff with a soft lint-free cloth. Do not use any commercial cleaning products or fluids as these can contain peroxide and bleach that will damage your charm beads.

2. Keeping your glass Trollbeads dry

You should never swim whilst wearing your glass Trollbeads, especially in a chlorinated swimming pool. Never immerse them in hot water or seawater. This could damage the resin settings. That means taking them off when you’re doing the washing up!

3. Avoid potentially harmful products

As a general rule we recommend that you avoid contact with perfumes, creams (including hand creams), soaps, cosmetics and hair lacquer, etc. As mentioned above, never allow your beads to come into contact with chemical detergents or bleach. This means putting your Trollbeads jewellery on as last that finishing touch when you’ve finished with all your beautifying lotions and potions.
