This is a guest blog from Trollbeads collector, Beverley Lawrence, from Hertfordshire. She tells us all about how she has been creating a collection of Trollbeads for a stunning necklace that reflects her unique personality. She has even managed to captivate her husband with the beauty of Trollbeads.

I love to wear jewellery, and always choose individual, often handcrafted, pieces. That is one of the reasons why I decided to create a Trollbeads necklace to tell “my story”. It's a work-in-progress, as there is still some space on the chain, and I have a “wish list” of beads to add to it! The combination of beads, especially as I have several gorgeous Tibetan OOAKs, is as individual as I am, and no-one else will have exactly the same piece of jewellery. My beads are as colourful and varied as my personality.

My husband has bought me some glass beads, simply because he liked them. He was captivated by the way sunlight reflected on Silver Trace (Blue/Cerise), for example. I have chosen some beads simply because I think they are beautiful, or because they have meaning for me. Milan - stylish and sophisticated - reminds me of our first holiday in that city in Italy, and French Anemone makes me think of our son, who is studying French at university. I am a keen photographer, and Dark Leopard and Grey Wolf remind me of animals I have studied and captured on camera. Deep Bubbles was one of the first beads I bought; I love it because it is as tranquil and mysterious as the oceans, with clear bubbles rising to the surface from the hidden depths.

Beverley's husband was "capivated" by the beauty of Silver Trace

My silver beads so far are the B bead, as that is my initial, and High Heel - shoes being one of my passions. What girl doesn't love a pair of heels? My necklace fastens with the Flower Lock, a miniature work of art that shouldn't go without mention.

My profession requires me to have a keen eye for detail, and I love to look at my beads, turning them round, finding aspects of the designs that I may not have noticed previously: a little swirl here, or a bubble there. I work on a freelance basis, so when I have been paid for a piece of work it's nice to treat myself to a little “something”: and what better than a Trollbead?

I was thrilled when I won a kit of assorted OOAK beads. Made in northern India by Tibetan refugees, these beads make my necklace even more unique, as they are true “one offs”. There is a special beauty in their combination of colours, and in their freedom of design and interesting use of textures. One is particularly beautiful: it is blue, with alternating segments of different colours and tiny “blobs” of glass on the surface. Truly one of a kind! Another is a creamy white, with traces of gold flowing around it: stunning. Touching them, I can almost feel the love, inspiration and spirituality that went into creating them.

My necklace is a colourful way to express my individuality, and whenever I look at the beads I can recall my precious memories. Whether dressing down or dressing up, in jeans or an evening dress, it is, quite simply, a joy to wear whatever the occasion. Now I just need a pair of ear-rings to complement it!
